N-Type Doping II-VI Semiconductor Nanocrystals

The technological importance of dopants in semiconductor devices has motivated us to attempt to dope semiconductor nanocrystals to control their electronic properties. To date, the possibility of introducing n- and p-type states into nanocrystals has been hindered by the lack of proven syntheses to introduce appropriate dopants into nanocrystals. I developed new synthetic techniques to dope silver, aluminum, and indium into CdSe nanocrystals. and the nanocrystals were characterized to determine dopant location and the presence of n-type states.
